Daimler, Renault and Fraunhofer LBF deliver keynotes at the 2011 LMS European Vehicle Conference
The next generation in vehicle development -
Innovative system engineering to boost brand value and sustainability
Leuven, Belgium – LMS International, leading partner in test and mechatronic simulation, is pleased to announce the keynote speakers at the 2011 LMS European Vehicle Conference to be held at the Kempinski Hotel Airport in Munich, Germany on May 11st and 12nd. The conference will host Prof.Dr. Ludger Dragon, Head of Vehicle Dynamics Simulation at Daimler, Mr. Eric Landel, Expert Leader Numerical Modeling & Simulation at Renault, and Prof. Dr.-Ing Holger Hanselka, Director at Fraunhofer Institute for Structural Durability and System Reliability, as keynote speakers.
“We are greatly pleased that Prof. Dr. Ludger Dragon, Mr. Eric Landel and Prof. Dr.-Ing Holger Hanselka will present their visionary approach to the eco- and brand value engineering challenges in the automotive sector.” commented Dr. Urbain Vandeurzen, LMS Chairman and CEO. “Our aim is to provide a meeting place for the automotive and ground vehicle community to exchange ideas and find ways to respond to the current challenges in the industry.”
In the context of sustainable mobility & energy management optimization, new mechatronic systems in powertrain, transmission and chassis are being developed – often in close collaboration with the supplier industry, with a high impact on system functional performance. These industrial changes require technological innovation as well as considerations for more efficient development processes. The industry focuses on frontloading the development process based on a model based systems engineering paradigm, including methodology to use virtual multi-physics models of subsystems and systems in combination with controls modeling for frontloading performance assessment, and develops refined schemes for control integration, calibration and validation. At the same time, pressure on efficiency and brand innovation remains high for the more traditional attribute areas as NVH and acoustics performance, durability, comfort and vehicle performance.
The two-day conference is the ideal venue to discover real-life business applications and the latest technological evolutions presented by leading industry experts, and to experience simulation and testing solutions and products from LMS and its partners. The conference will bring together engineering executives, senior managers, and technical experts who will share strategies that illustrate how simulation supported by continuous progress in physical testing has helped them optimize their products and product development processes.
